Well, that was fast. Remember Melky Mesa? He was one of the kids the Yankees really had high hopes for. Well, he's gone, released by the Yankees. They announced it on Twitter:
Jayson Nix transferred to 60-day D.L. and Melky Mesa unconditionally released to make room on the 40-man roster for Cabral and MarshallHe'll land on his feet somewhere, the kid has potential. According to Madison.com HERE,other things happened too today!: "The New York Yankees have expanded their roster with September call-ups, adding infielder David Adams and three pitchers. The Yankees promoted right-handers Dellin Betances and Brett Marshall and lefty Cesar Cabral from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. They also signed catcher J.R. Murphy and selected him from Triple-A before Sunday's game against Baltimore."
