WHERE'S AROD?

Did you guys see this? Apparently Alex Rodriguez was a no-show for a minor league game.  According to Joel Sherman at the New York Post (HERE), "Following Alex Rodriguez’s meeting in Tampa on Friday with Major League Baseball officials investigating his ties to performance-enhancing drugs and Biogenesis, A-Rod was scheduled to play for the Single-A Tampa Yankees.

However, sources told The Post Rodriguez never showed up for what was going to be his seventh rehab game, and organization officials were scrambling to find him. Eventually, sources said, Rodriguez informed the Yankees he was not going to play Friday, which infuriated team officials.

As it turned out, the game was postponed by rain.

But sources say Rodriguez had enough time to get from the nearby location where he was interrogated to the park before any official word had come down about whether the game would be played or not. He was not excused by organization officials from attending the game and, in fact, the Yankees had been told by MLB the interview would be done in a time frame to allow Rodriguez to continue his rehab games. The meeting ended about two hours before the scheduled first pitch."

Here's the thing... and there are many things "silly" about this report.  The first thing is the game was rained out in the end, so, who cares that Alex was a "no-show" at a game he was supposed to be at.  It becomes irrelevant.

The second thing is, if Alex Rodriguez missed a game without permission, he should be fine by what the Yankees feel is the amount for punishment (I don't know what that amount is), then, we move on. The Yankees have the right to be mad, they should be mad, but don't we know that already?

The third thing... Why is Sherman breaking down the length of time between when the interview with MLB happened and when Alex could have make it to the Single-A Yankees facility? Who gives a crap whether ARod "could have" made it or not? He clearly didn't go or didn't want to go, and you know what? That's on ARod!  Who knows, maybe he was spent after questioning from MLB or maybe he was pissed, or maybe he just didn't want to face the media blitz that would be waiting for him?Maybe he was frustrated about his rehab performance... we don't know, we may never know and whatever man... whatever.

This story is stupid and it's just another example of people piling on Alex Rodriguez... just to sell papers.  Don't believe me? ESPN is doing it now... Thanks Andrew Marchand.
