Quick note in Yankeeland... sometimes making moves affect other moves and so things need to be shuffled around...no big deal, just the nature of the business.
First off, we know that Mariano Rivera is coming back to the Yankees signing a 1 year deal, read HERE.We wrote about that yesterday.

Next the Yankees picked up Jim Miller, a right handed pitcher off waivers from the Oakland Athletics. Alittle background on Miller; He's 30. He's a fastball and slider pitcher that posted a 2.59 ERA in 48.2 innings for the A's in 2012. OK, then what?

Then, the Yanks avoided arbitration with infielder Jayson Nix signing him to a $900,000. But to make room on the 40 man roster, the Yankees then had to then designate Nix and Mickey Storey, (read about Mickey HERE) for assignment. Nix accepted his move to AAA and so, according to Chad Jennings at LoHud (HERE), "Basically, if he clears, he’ll come to Yankees camp as a non-roster invitee with a chance to win back his utility job."
Alot of moving and organizing going on in the Bronx. We just wanted to keep you in the loop. Next up... we need a catcher.
