GIVE CHRIS DICKERSON A SHOT!

There, I said it. It had to be said. Everybody wants to say it but no one's saying it... Why?

It seems to me that if you want an outfielder and you're trying to save money as a ball club, the idea of throwing Chris Dickerson into the mix makes a helluva lot of sense.

The Yankees currently have Brett Gardner, Curtis Granderson and Ichiro Suzuki roaming their outfield. That works for speed and some power and men getting on base (Gardy and Ichiro are like 2 lead off guys) but on that day that one needs a rest, throw Dickerson in there. There is no question he has the passion to play and will contribute quite well if needed.

Dickerson will never be a superstar, but he will do his best and that's all I ask for.  He did in Cincinnati with the Reds and he did in Milwaukee.  Dickerson has great instincts, is a good base runner to boot, alittle speed and just needs a shot, like Francisco Cervelli and Austin Romine as catcher, but that's another post for another time.

Look, there is no doubt given the high standard of Yankee play, Dickerson could shine getting enough at bats and playing time while giving the others a day off here and there.

Plus, with all the recent talk of the Yanks re-signing Raul Ibanez to be more of a DH than outfielder any way (read HERE), it works out perfectly.

Do it Yanks, keep Dickerson in the mix, I will bet a lot comes out of it, plus, it falls in line with you guys holding onto every dollar you have real tight.
