YANKEES ARE KING OF NEW YORK...NOT CHICKENS

The Yankees won the series against the Mets 2 games to 1.  That's a good thing.  It started out rocky of course, trash talk brings out the best in fans on both sides of the aisle, but in the end the Chickens... er, Yankees won and now we move on. Don't know what I'm talking about? Read BE LIKE MARIANO...LET YOUR TALENT DO THE TALKING. By the way, that's 5 of 6 that the Yankees have won, so while the Mets are a good team this year, when it comes to who's the King of New York...well, I think it's pretty clear. That being said, these were the good games.
Once again it was home runs, not small ball that made the world go 'round for the Yankees.  Nick Swisher crushed a 3 run home run and then shortly after, it was Robinson Cano that helped put the Yankees ahead.

Many were concerned that RA Dickey would just dominate the Yankees.  Actually, it was Mets fans that felt as though he would wipe the field with us.  Not so fast, Dickey was due for an OK outing.  6 innings, allowing 5 hits and 5 runs.  He didn't get the loss though, more on that in a moment. CC Sabathia wasn't exactly spectacular, but I have to say, I would still throw him on my mound as my #1 guy any day of the week.  CC went, 5.2 innings, allowed 9 hits and 5 runs and he only struck out 3.  Truth be told, those are not CC numbers and it's June and right about now the Monster is in better form than that. I wonder what the deal is?  Many have speculated his weight may be the issue, I'm not sure I can pinpoint it yet, but something is off.

But back to Dickey, the game was knotted at 5 until the 8th when Miguel Batista came in and allowed the Cano home run to put the Yankees ahead. The Yankee bullpen came in and just did great, although it was Cory Wade who blew the save, but don't get all on his case, relievers are allowed to have a bad outing once in a while.  Put it this way, the ERA of these guys has been outstanding; Cory Wade, 3.34 is the worst of it.
That was followed by Boone Logan, 2.60 ERA (W), David Robertson, 2.50 ERA and Rafael Soriano, 1.65 ERA.  Soriano got another save...his 15th of the season.

The Yankees win 6-5.  Good work boys...keep it rolling.
