WHY THE BURNETT TRADE TO PIRATES IS "CLOSE"

Buster Olney tweets that the deal between the Pirates and the Yankees is now merely about players and money, something they have still not agreed on "but they're talking within that common ground to settle details." Read HERE.

Ultimately that's just a clever tweet to say, "The Yanks and Pirates are essentially in the same position they were last night, but I wanted to get a tweet out this morning."

Anyway look, I have no doubt this Burnett trade will happen, I wrote about it yesterday in WHY AJ BURNETT WILL END UP A PIRATE, but I'm not going to sit here and guess. When something happens, we will bring it to you.

Also, Francisco Cervelli was quoted as saying that he thinks AJ Burnett is one of the greatest guys in the clubhouse. You can read that HERE. Here's the quote: "AJ is one of the best guys on the team and like I said, we don't control that, we just go out there and play baseball and he's part of the Yankees and he's part of the team. Gotta respect every decision."
