WHY NOVA GETTING SNUBBED IS A DAMN SHAME

The voting results of the best players each year is like a bad joke that keeps on annoying… Yankee fans. All Yankee fans watched a youngster by the name of Ivan Nova have a 16-4 season, have a 3.70 ERA season, yet he finished 4th in the Rookie of the Year voting. Not only did Ivan Nova pitch well this season , he pitched great. With names like Jeremy Hellickson and Mark Trumbo also in the running for the American League Rookie of the Year, I knew that Ivan Nova was at least the winner of the award and if not, at least in the top 3. I cannot explain my disappoint and aggravation of what transpired today. Not only did Ivan Nova not win, he came in 4th place. Read the full story HERE.

But the worst part for me? Andrew Marchand, whom I respect, puts a piece out immediately kissing the ass of the voters titling his piece Voters got it right, Nova wasn’t ROY. He then goes on and writes this:

“While both pitched in the AL East, Nova had the advantage of facing the Rays compared to Hellickson who had to go up against the Yankees.”

What does that even mean Andrew? So because the Yankees lineup featured better hitters, that catapulted Hellickson into the top of the voting? Should the Yankees batting have sucked to give Nova a shot at Rookie of the Year? If Nova’s ERA was alittle lower, would he have a shot then? Probably not, Mark Trumbo received 63 points and Eric Hosmer received 38. Jeremy Hellickson received 17 of the 28 first place votes and behind players like Mark Trumbo and Eric Hosmer came Nova, who received just 1 single 1st place vote, 5 2nd place votes and 10 third place votes.

Look, congrats to Hellickson, it's not about him, it's about my guy Nova, deserving it as well. For the love of God, this is no longer a contest Ladies and Gentlemen… no… it’s a clear-cut all-out assault to wipe true Yankee stars from the books, claiming legit voting, yet carrying an anti-Yankee bias all the way. You could argue a lower ERA for Hellickson ,but God forbid you don’t compare wins with ERA, well, that would be wrong. I’m disappointed. 1 single 1st place vote went to Nova… Just 1. Are you serious? Does anyone find anything wrong with that? I do. Remember, Hellickson received 17 out of 28. That is a pretty large difference for 2 pitchers that were near head to head going down the stretch. It’s not a coincidence that Nova was shut out, it was a calculated vote, I believe that.

I wrote WHY THE YANKEES SHOULD BE AMERICA’S TEAM and I meant it. In a world where the Yankees exemplify everything America is about… winning and pride in doing our best, as an individual and a nation, there is always someone to knock us down. There is Yankee hate because people want their own team to win it all. I get it, yet, don’t understand it.

So, mark my words, CC Sabathia will not win the Cy young tomorrow, and yes, it’s true, in this situation, he probably shouldn’t… Justin Verlander was amazing. If he’s not in the top 3 though, I swear I will punch someone. Secondly, Curtis Granderson will not win the MVP this year, this goes back to keeping the Yankees down. While Grandy’s AVG was low for an MVP, he demonstrated leadership with his home runs, RBIs and runs this season. That being said, it doesn’t matter… they already have it figured out… and it makes me sick.
