WHEN THERE ARE NO MORE ORIGINAL IDEAS...

Remember Jesse Schindler's great piece on Larry Rothschild titled WHY ROTHSCHILD IS A PITCHING GENIUS? It was an important piece which broke down how Rothschild is a guru and how he was able to get the starting rotation's strikeouts up. Here's a sample:"...the main thing with Rothschild is the strikeouts. Pitchers strikeout rates seem to climb with Rothschild in the helm. Look at some of the Yankees starting pitchers strikeout rates in 2010 when Eiland was pitching coach, and in 2011 when Rothschild was pitching coach:

CC Sabathia:
2010- 7.5 K/9

2011- 8.7 K/9,
highest since 2008 (8.9 K/9)
AJ Burnett:
2010- 7.0 K/9

2011- 8.2 K/9,
highest since 2009 (8.5 K/9)

Bartolo Colon:

2009 (Didn't pitch in 2010)- 5.5 K/9
2011- 7.4 K/9,
highest since 2000 (10.1 K/9)

Freddy Garcia:
2010- 5.1 K/9

2011- 5.9 K/9,
highest since 2008 (7.2 K/9)

Heck, even
Ivan Nova's strikeout rate rose. Remember, he went back to the minors to work on his slider so he could elevate his strikeout rate in early July. Before being sent down on July 3 to AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Nova had a 5.0 K/9 rate. When Nova returned on July 30, his K/9 rate rose to 5.7 the rest of the way. Not a huge difference, but a positive difference nonetheless."

The full piece is HERE.

So, surprise, surprise...I guess Mike Axisa at another blog decided because Bleeding Yankee Blue is smaller and not as important... to him at least, no one would notice if he just posted his own piece on Rothschild's influence, and literally came up with that same type of post as us, although, may I suggest, ours is more fun. I guess there were no creative juices flowing that day.

"When the Yankees somewhat surprisingly* hired pitching coach Larry Rothschild last off season, we heard that he had a reputation for helping his pitchers increase their strikeout rates and decrease their unintentional walk rates." He then goes through to break down what we brought you weeks ago HERE.

Look, bottom line, we're not the first to come up with this idea, but I found the break down to be incredibly similar and that's why I'm calling him out. This comes off the heals of a piece we wrote about Miguel Cabrera on October 14th, click on Miguel's name and scroll down to the bottom of that post.

I guess if you want original stuff...come to us.
It's pathetic... that's all.
