Just a quick note about what we do here at Bleeding Yankee Blue for any newcomers who have never seen the site, have been curious about us, found us by accident or just noticed us on Facebook and Twitter and fell in love with the product. We are for real.
I know this post comes out of no where for our veteran readers, but with the world of Yankee and baseball news over the past 6 years, it's been evident that when it comes to Yankee news, we offer a flair most don't. Opinion driven and passion is what we offer, and while others have just recently caught on, stepping away from their stat filled pages and numbers mentality.... we go old school and always have, because that's how we roll.
I don't need Bill James to tell me how to like baseball. I suspect you are the same way which is why you read us. We believe in the eye test, We follow our heroes and we root based on emotion and the basics... Home runs, RBIs, Average, ERA, Strikeouts and the like. That's my feeling at least and while Bleeding Yankee Blue is skirting the world of Fielding %, dWar, RAA and the like, while interesting, it's just not that important to this website.
Bleeding Yankee Blue is a feeling... a movement and it's based on real life emotion. If you like it, I invite you to stay. For the most part we have pretty incredible, and smart readers and my writers are tops. If you don't care for what we do here, don't read us, it's OK. We won't go bashing, just don't come after us telling us we're wrong on an opinion. We are the alternative to what is the same with most websites. We employ female writers, some better than the male sports writers out there. We also live in the moment of passion for the game and for the team. And sometimes... we even talk about life.
Yup... we're Bleeding Yankee Blue. We are different... and we're just getting warmed up.
To all of you that have read us since September 14, 2010, welcome aboard. To the newbies... we're happy to have you... enjoy the ride. It's fun.
