YANKEES KEEPING IT INTERESTING ON THE REBOUND

The drama facing New York teams right now is slightly unbearable as we experience a change of seasons this the Labor Day Weekend.  With Hurricane Hermine in its wrath, the Northeast is hunkering down for what seems to be wild month of September.  Forget back to the school, the Yankees and step brother Mets are certainly making it interesting as they both fight for playoff birth come October.

As the New York Times reported, "The Yankees took two out of three against the Orioles last weekend at Yankee Stadium, and they have won four consecutive series. They will need to rebound quickly to keep that streak going and to maintain their hopes of capturing a playoff spot."

So looking to what's ahead, besides today's game against the O's, we have the Blue Jays, the Rays and the Dodgers all at home through September 11th.  The following week we have the Red Sox, the Rays and Blue Jays all away.  We finish the regular season at home with the Red Sox and O's respectively.  Not gonna lie, it is an awful month ahead and as the Times suggests, we need to rebound and win series with no time for losses and injuries.

"Elbow issues like this often lead to worse news, such as Tommy John surgery, and Girardi admitted that this injury is "worrisome." We can safely assume that (Chad) Green will miss some time (and probably the rest of the season), thus there is a hole in the rotation to fill for a club that still thinks of itself as a serious playoff contender at 3 ½ games out of the AL's second wild card spot with 31 games remaining," reports NJ.com.

The Yankees may have options should they need to completely replace Green in the rotation this season.  Not sure Luis Severino will be the answer, but there is some chatter about Bryan Mitchell, who pitched well in relief on Friday, allowing just one run over 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision against Rochester.

A lot of wait and see but only one thing is for sure: we have to rebound.  And with this rebound, the outcome can only be wins.
