TORTURE FOR 16

The Yankees knew they lost 3 in a row entering last night's game. It doesn't help that every Yankee fan on the planet was crying about it.  Sure, the pressure is there... we lost to the Blue Jays, who clearly have something to prove, and so yes, those games were must win games... but we didn't win them. We lost, and as a team like the Yankees, they needed to move on. We fans get crazy, but we shouldn't... there's more baseball to be played, and we'll share a great piece about that on BYB shortly, brought to you by Dan Lucia.  Anyway... last night there was a game that was played against the Indians. We needed to win. There were glimmers that maybe we would.  Then we didn't.  Not to mention... it was torture to watch, but it didn't start that way.

Luis Severino was on the mound.  And message to people everywhere... he's the real deal.  He went 6 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs.  He struck out just 2.  He was followed by a whole cast of characters, including Shreve, Betances, Justin Wilson and Andrew Miller.  You know... Miller, the guy that is our closer but clearly is not automatic.  Don't know what I mean? Keep reading...

The Indians scored 2 runs in 2 innings to start things off.  Yankee bats appeared still stunned by the sweep against the Jays this past weekend.  Then in the 6th, Stephen Drew hit a solo shot.  Then, in the 8th, it was Carlos Beltran homering.  Now it was tied and life was good.

In the 10th, it was Chase Headley who was going to be the star. He knocked in 2 to make it 4-2.

Then Andrew Miller came in and gave 2 back to the Indians to tie it up again.  In short, he shit the bed.  Hey, it happens... I just wish it didn't happen last night.  We needed that win.

Eventually, the Indians would score the winning run... in the 16th inning.   I think BYB Senior Writer Jeana Bellezza tweeted it best:
Yup... that sucked.

Final: Indians 5 - Yankees 4
