The way it looks right now, the Yankees are trying to sign Brandon McCarthy, but Brandon McCarthy hasn't signed yet. The reason? Well, Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com has it all figured out. He tweeted this:

OK then.
In other words, McCarthy wants to see what the market will bring for Jon Lester, Max Scherzer and James Shields and then he'll most likely come to the table and negotiate. Not a bad strategy because when you think about it, many just assumed it was a marriage made in heaven between he and the Yanks.
Look, there is no question Brandon likes New York, he did well and has stated it publicly. The question is at what cost? And for now, it's business and we wait.
