Wow.  Interesting chance the Philadelphia Phillies are taking.  It's being announced HERE, that the Phillies have signed Carlos Zambrano to a deal. Really.  Really and truly.  According to Hardball Talk's Aaron Gleeman, " the Phillies announced that they’ve signed Zambrano to a minor-league contract... Obviously the Phillies can use rotation help with Roy Halladay out indefinitely and John Lannan also on the disabled list, but Zambrano is pretty close to the bottom of the barrel at this point."

I echo that same opinion, but you never know, Zambrano is 31, not 41... he could actually be useful. I mean, look at the Yankees and the signing of Chien-Ming Wang? You never know if there is alittle extra left in the tank for some of these pitchers.
