WHY IT MUST START WITH YANKEE PITCHING

If your ball club has a pitcher that doesn't have his stuff and you need to dig out of a hole the entire game, it's a tough road and many many times, you don't come back. the last few nights were perfect examples. Sure, we're the Bronx Bombers so you always expect some late game heroics, but last night clearly wasn't the night. Plus, why does it have to be that way? Pitching wins ball games, you hear it all the time, but pitching won't win ballgames if you give up a lot of runs early. Last night was a damn shame.

Hiroki Kuroda impressed me this Spring, then shit the bed when it counted. I don't subscribe to losing, so, while it's Game 2, it sucks. A loss in Game 1 was just a loss, a loss in Game 2 is a losing streak. That's why I'm annoyed. Game 1, CC Sabathia allowed a Grand Slam by a lousy match up call by Joe Girardi that backfired and then last night, Kuroda just didn't have it. Today, it's Jeremy Hellickson against Phil Hughes and Hughes is coming off a season of hurt and horror. Down 2 games to 0 in a series against the Rays, it's a must win. If we're swept by the Rays in a 3 game series, Joe Maddon thinks who the hell he is. And I have news for you, I don't like Maddon when he's happy with himself. That also annoys me.

So what needs to happen to turn this "losing streak" around? We need pitching that can keep us in the game. The Yankees have the talent, both on the mound and with the bat, but we need both to succeed. If a pitcher allows 5 runs by the second inning, it's a must that our bats turn it on and score some runs. If not, it's catch up, catch up and more catch up.

We'll turn it around ladies and gentlemen, but we need to get that rhythm going. If we're constantly playing catchup, we can't sit back and start humming as a team, all we're doing is trying to dig the others out of a whole... and we fans... well, we just get pissed.
